Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account — if you create an account, your email address and a securely hashed password (or an Apple/Google identifier if you sign in with those). Guest accounts store no personal details.
• Learning data — your profiles (name and avatar color you choose), lesson progress, stars, and favorite songs, so your journey syncs across devices.
• Basic diagnostics — anonymous app version and crash information to keep the app working.

Your microphone

Pianova can listen through your microphone to detect the notes you play on a real piano. This audio is processed on your device, in real time, purely to recognize pitch. It is never recorded, stored, or sent to our servers. You can turn the microphone off any time in Settings, and the app works fully with the on-screen or MIDI keyboard instead.

How we use your information

We use it only to provide and sync your lessons and progress, to process subscriptions, and to fix problems. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Children & family profiles

Pianova supports multiple profiles so a family can share one device. Profiles for children should be created and managed by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children; a child profile only stores the name and avatar chosen by the parent, plus lesson progress.

Sharing

We share data only with the service providers that run Pianova (for example, our hosting and database provider, and Apple for App Store subscriptions), and only as needed to operate the app or when required by law.

Your choices

You can edit or delete profiles, reset your progress, and turn off the microphone in the app. To access or delete your account data, contact us at support@pianova.app.
